At Founding Farmers, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy high-quality food that is both delicious and grown with care. To make that belief a reality, our restaurants are owned by over 42,000 family farmers of North Dakota Farmers Union (NDFU) and are supplied daily by hundreds of family farms from around the country. In fact, from the flour mill to the fruit orchard, restaurant profits return directly to the farmers. This is our way to contribute to keeping the food dollar flowing into the pockets of these family farmers. Our suppliers are carefully chosen to ensure that their values are in sync with ours. Our goal of unbundling the industrial supply chain is reached by purchasing individual ingredients from local farmers and cooking all of our dishes from scratch every day. This includes everything from baking our own bread, pressing our own juices, grinding our own beef, and making our own pastas. We also craft our own line of proprietary beverages, which includes Founding Farmers Rye Whisky, Founding Farmers Gin, and Vineyard Vines and New York Vines wine. Our sustainability efforts don’t stop there. When designing and building our restaurants, we incorporate recycled and refurbished materials in order for our restaurants to meet  the Green Restaurant Association’s certification standards. Our commitment to the environment also extends behind the scenes. We compost and recycle food waste, use a filtered water system that says no to plastic bottles, and install only the most energy efficient equipment we can find. At Founding Farmers, we invest our time and energy into our restaurants and people because we want them to reflect the ideals and values of the American farmer.
